At Bristol Community College, a new program has been developed, which allows students to bypass waiting lists as long as they pay double the tuition. The money will goes towards funding for new facilities. To many this seems unfair. Community college has always been an option for people who couldn't afford a better college, but now by paying double people can bypass other students. This means that there can be two candidates for the nursing program, but because one can pay double the tuition, they automatically make it in. Although the money is funding better and newer facilities, it is unfair to have students bypassing waiting lists, by paying more money. Community college should be an equal opportunity for all students, but having students pay more or less for the same degree is clearly not equal.Boston Globe Article
